Intermediate Band Audition Requirements
All eligible students from grades 7, 8 and 9 will be able to audition for Intermediate Bands. ALL students, regardless of what grade they are in, will audition on the same audition materials. Students will be placed in either Symphonic Winds, or Concert Band based on their overall scores.
Intermediate Band (Int.) Range Requirements (Grades 7, 8, 9) For all Int. percussion students: All battery percussionists will audition on snare, traps and a short mallet etude. There will not be separate auditions for snare and traps. The battery percussion audition will include snare drum rudiments, snare drum solo, snare drum sight reading, traps studies (found on NJSMA.com) and the required mallet etude. There will be no traps solo or traps sight reading. Int. Harp Requirements (Band/Orchestra)
